In 2011, Fine Gael took power. Joined by Labour, they enacted legislation that would open the floodgates for vulture funds and property gamblers to further create complete havoc – and they have. State records speak for them. As the vultures rushed in, the number of social builds plummeted down. The Fine Gael plan – completely backed by Labour – to “let the market take care of itself” has been completely, utterly devastation for a new generation of Ireland offspring.
.
It should importantly be noted that while the two parties were backing this right-wing capitalist ideology, other states in Europe were banning the vultures, etc. They recognised the dangers of what Fine Gael and Labour were mega stupid doing. Still, the two parties basically said “Stuff the lot of you! We are doing what we want. We have power now and for five years you cannot stop us!”
.
The damage done by the two parties will now take more than one generation to fix. It will definitely take more than one term of any future government to fix. It is important to recognise this too. Labour now in national party conference says they “are the party of the left”. Their prior actions expose this as complete rubbish. Not stopping with their #CETA agenda – an agenda NEVER put to the people for their democratic vote approval – of handing more national/local issues and department services to private interests, further caused devastation to sick, unemployed, single mothers, dying, workers, the Health department, the housing department and far more.
.
All this has been cleverly masked by a bucketload of PR, that’s been further spread by enabling RTE and other sycophantic media outlets who themselves, gain finances from the devious parties in government. They repeatedly decline to bite a hand feeding it – or if they really have to, to appear impartial, they don’t release full facts and repeatedly ‘pull their punches’. Only now, really only now, as Sinn Fein maintains a higher degree of support than never before, are the two parties involved from the start, willing to finally address what they have previously took a wrecking ball to. That being Ireland state house building.
.
Let’s be clear here. They only now are trying to address this issue to save their own backsides.
.
* There is still no admission that they did wrong.
* There is still no apology from either party for what they did.
.
Such is their arrogance – while now PR saying they are the answer to a bloody problem they created in the first place. You are supposed to swallow the former and forget the past latter! Just as bad, Fianna Fáil and the Green Party, once they got into bed with Fine Gael, then saw to it that the only people who were ultimately left screwed, were the people of Ireland – and not in a good way. The only climax to the parties jumping into bed with Fine Gael, was to leave more citizens homeless. In fact, the highest number EVER in the history of the state.
.
Incredibly, these same parties espouse they have the solutions for their mess. Let’s get our own heads out of our asses here. They couldn’t fix the problems created for the last eleven years. They are now going to do it now? Seriously? Come on… Not all of us are that stupid. In a futher PR effort to make it look like they were doing something, anything… the government parties created later legislation that espoused it would stop vulture funds. It was more crap from them. They deliberately left out of their (loophole filled) legislation, the bulk grabbing of apartments. Vultures could still mass grab those before ordinary citizens could buy even one.
.
Just last week we further saw a vulture company STILL able to knock aside Independent home buyers who had placed their individual, hard saved, deposits – and then again, bulk buy complete sets of houses. In other words, the government PR created legislation was again exposed as completely utterly useless – beyond it being one more attempted PR stunt. All the parties now recognise that “Housing” is the issue that will make or break the current government. Truth? It will make or break future ones too as they all try to repair the damage done by Fine Gael and Labour originally.
.
If people still think all the parties involved for the last eleven years, has had the publics interest at heart with their constant, more right-wing capitalist agenda, they really are being taken for fools and a further uncomfortable ride. It’s time we as citizens open our eyes more and yes, cop ourselves more on about all this.
.
Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil, Green Party and Labour have devastated us. They have betrayed us. Some still do in many current self-adopted, undemocratic ways. It’s time to move on from the parties of the past and their rotten ways. The present young generation and future ones to come, will either suffer more for us re-electing the same fools back or thank us for copping on, then choosing a new political direction.
.
The future is now over to you, to make. Our children – and their children – needs us to make better choices.
